Why I do things

I sometimes ask myself why I do stuff, for example: Why do I go to school still, even though I don't have to anymore? Why do I spend hours on picking out clothes instead of just wearing something comfy? Why do I always say what I think instead of just shutting up every once in a while?

Here's what I came up with:

  • Why do I cook? - Because cooking is art, and because I love the way you can create things, blend different flavours, try out new techniques, new recipes, change and add ingredients.. always seeking for perfection.
  •
  • Why do I teach myself Russian? - On one hand the country and it's exotic language absolutely fascinates me and on the other hand I do it because it will be helpful later on in my life, for my career, travelling and similar things. (Also a little bit because I'm bored at school and I don't want my brain to fall in a coma, but I'm really not supposed to say that out loud)
  •
  • Why can I not start my day without coffee? - Because, I admit that, over the years I have become more and more of an obsessive coffee drinker. Now I can't live without the coffeine anymore. And I don't just say that - you'd know if you would have tryed me without coffee... worst headaches and most unbearable mood in the world.
  • Why do I watch TV before I go to sleep?- Because it's the easiest way to fall asleep without thinking about life. I hate thinking about life when I can't change anything about it right then. So I decided just not to think about it anymore when I'm in bed.
  • Why do I listen to minimal? - Because you can listen to it all the time. And I don't mean almost all the time but all the time and everywhere. And because it is so simple that it couldn't possibly get boring. ever.
  • Why do I have Gucci and TH days? - First of all I need to explain what Guccidays and THdays are (for those who don't know: TH stands for Tommy Hilfiger). The reason why I initially used brand names to describe the type of day it is, is pretty simple. Two perfumes. Guilty by Gucci and Dreaming by Tommy Hilfiger (still the only ones I use, by the way). Anyway, when you have to decide between two perfumes every morning, you think about what kind of day it's going to be and which perfume may be a better match (there are days too where I don't use perfume at all but that's irrelevant right now). So with time came certain stereotypes of Guccidays and even more stereotype THdays. So now When I get up in the morning I don't ask myself what the day's gonna be like and which perfume may fit better anymore. I just get up, decide whether it's going to be a Gucci or a TH day and then go on. I'm not going to explain why a Gucciday is a Gucciday and what's ther difference to a THday. That you couldn't put in proper words, you'd have to smell it.
  • Why do I stop here? - because nobody likes to read long blog posts and because, maybe - I wouldn't know - some of you want to ask why I do certain things too. If you do so, go ahead, leave a comment and I will referr to it in one of the following posts.

By the way: Yesterday my blog reached the first 1000 visitors - keep it up - Here's to many many more - Cheers & Thank you!
